Abstract
This study is based on Seligman¡®s (2011) study well-being theory to translate and validate the PERMA-Profiler(Butler, & Kern, 2016), which measures the concept of Flourish, into Korean and lay the groundwork for research on positive psychology in Korea. It is noted that Korean version of the Flourish Scale(K-PERMA) was completed through translation-reverse translation and preliminary surveys. In this context, data were collected through a survey of college students and adults, total 249(110 males and 139 females). In order to calculate the test-retest reliability, 114 subjects were repeated 4 weeks later. then, The correlation between reliability and subfactors was analyzed. Later, a confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to verify the construct validity, and the correlation with relevant measures was analyzed to verify the validity of the criteria. Finally, the results showed that the internal consistency of the scale raged from .82 to .90 for each subfactor, .95 for the PERMA total score, and the reliability of the test-retest were between .64 to .85 for each subfactor, .78 for the PERMA total score which was a good level. The model fit of the confirmatory factor analysis was ¥ö©÷ (df = 80, N = 249) = 194.97 (p <.001), CFI = .957, TLI = .938, RESEA = .086 (90% confidence interval, 0.72 to .10) was acceptable. Upon review, the analysis of correlations with related measures such as perceived stress, depression, anxiety, gratitude, self-compassion, and mindfulness showed that the results were consistent with the results of the original study and theoretical assumptions. Therefore, we confirmed that the Korean version of Flourish Scale(K-PERMA) can be used in the field of research on positive psychology, and is considered as a reliable and valid scale. Subsequently, the discussion and conclusions describe the implications, limitations and considerations of the use of the scale for future review.
